Meet Jason
Jason Townsley has been providing counselling and therapy services since 2007. He offers services to teens, adults, and families who are looking to address difficulties with identity, stress, and relationships. His skill set includes helping those who want to make improvements in their quality of life, specifically addressing mental health struggles such as anxiety, depression and addiction. He practices with an eclectic mix of evidence-based approaches such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), Collaborative Problem Solving (CPS), and Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT). While incorporating an Attachment- and Trauma-informed lens, he sprinkles in his sense of humour, compassion, and interest in each person’s story. Jason has co-developed therapy programming and offered DBT training in different counselling and hospital settings.
His experiences have included hospital psychiatry programs, inpatient addiction centres, detention and custody facilities, and community counselling centers. He is a Registered Social Worker, and member of both the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and the Ontario Association of Social Workers. Jason’s heart is found in his role as a father and a husband, and he has developed a true passion for the difficult and rewarding practice of psychotherapy work.
