Our skin is the outer expression of ourselves.  It is what we show to the world, and the way we look and feel about ourselves can influence how we show up every day.

Life happens , along with it – so do wrinkles, fine lines, dull complexions and sagging! Many notice with age that they feel far younger than their number, but look in the mirror and find many aging skin woes that don’t match up to how good they feel.

There is so much value in self-care, feeling like you are taking charge of your health and doing something you can see, something tangible with effects.

There is also value in taking pride in our outer expressions and appearance,  feeling like your outside matches how good you feel inside, as well as matches how much love you feel for yourself.

What does Facial Rejuvenation and Cosmetic acupuncture do?

These cosmetic acupuncture sessions aim to harmonize the patients internal systems through full body acupuncture treatments, paired with the focus of the session which is a customized facial acupuncture protocol that may help to reduce fine lines, wrinkles, sagging, and improve circulation in the face which helps with bringing your skin the nutrients and oxygen it needs to create a visible plumping glow.

Facial Rejuvenation and Cosmetic Acupuncture provided by Dr Elena Zarifis ND targets fine lines, wrinkles and sagging, and improves local circulation and complexion.

The effects of facial acupuncture are mostly due to stimulation of collagen production, improved circulation and blood flow , and toning of muscles.

What are the sessions like?

Contrary to what you may expect- facial acupuncture is not painful! Dr. Elena ND prides her sessions on being very relaxing and virtually painless, your comfort is of ultimate importance.

In each session:

You receive a full body acupuncture protocol that supports the goals for the facial concerns, plus:

a customized combo of tiny intradermal needles in fine lines and wrinkles where indicated ,

and delicate acupuncture needles in other spots of the face to address the muscle function and other aspects.

After we put needles in they are left in for a bit, followed by a guided relaxation and calming music and time to unwind, and then we remove them.

Then, we do rose quartz facial rolling and then also do gentle facial gua sha following that.

You are asked bring your own facial oil  for this as everyone has different needs, and to come with a clean face and no makeup on.

Common areas or complaints:

nasolabial smile lines, forehead lines, “eleven”  lines  , crows feet area (depending on proximity to eye),  sagging jowls , asymmetry, dull complexion, poor circulation in face, improving plump and glow, overall .

 How do we get started?

In our initial visit, we talk about the areas of your skin you’d like to address and I ask some questions that help me determine YOUR individual acupuncture whole body and facial protocol , after this brief intake, we do the acupuncture session.

How often do I need to come?

Follow up sessions are ideally 2x a week for  the first 4-5 weeks, followed by 1x week for a few weeks, then more spaced out visits – every 2-3 weeks, eventually into 1x a month.
