Counselling

We believe that people can navigate the chaos of life and find joy.

Think back in your life to times when you’ve had a coach. Maybe it was for hockey, little league, dance… Well, that coach likely had a huge impact on helping you navigate the ins and outs of the activity itself and a life coach is no different.

Through specific strategies and skills, a professionally-trained coach helps you define yourself and create the life you envision. Coaches help you focus, provide direction, challenge you, support you and celebrate with you. Life coaches help to create a plan, detail action, steps and hold you accountable for following through. They use skills that include observing, listening deeply, asking empowering questions, challenging and motivating.

Is a Life Coach Right For Me?

Most people could benefit from time spent with a life coach as it enables you to do a deep-dive into your current situation and identify areas for growth that could lead you to a more fulfilled version of you.

Consider a life coach if you are someone who struggles with:

  • Feeling chronic stress or burnout
  • Finding fulfillment in your job
  • Difficulty getting your needs met
  • Self-sabotaging behaviour
  • Being hard on yourself
  • Never feeling good enough
  • Worrying about what other people think
  • Not being able to relax and have fun
  • Looking for balance and a better quality of life
  • Finding more meaning and purpose in your life.

This might help. Perhaps you see yourself reflected in one of these common scenarios?

SELFLESS GIVER: Perhaps others refer to you as an “Angel” or something similar and yet for all the happiness you bring to others, your own happiness keeps eluding you. Are you giving yourself the love you so frequently give to others? Self-care seems almost frivolous and allowing others to give to you is not something you know how to do, yet some part of you knows that your well-being depends on it.

MOTHER: You are a mother who is kind and caring. You hear about how others are parenting their kids and wonder if you are parenting the “right way.” You are worried that there might be more that you should be doing and it makes you feel anxious. There are many demands on you from managing the household, meals, supporting homework, shuttling kids to activities, and your own volunteer work.  How can you keep this all going?

PARENT OF CHILD WITH MENTAL HEALTH ISSUES: You are a parent of an almost adult who is experiencing serious mental health issues. You feel alone and isolated in navigating the healthcare system. It is hard to set standards and form boundaries with your child that you can both live with. You give to the point of feeling depleted. Your reserves are spent. You want a different path forward and some support to get you there.

LIFE TRANSITION: You are facing a challenging life transition such as the end of a significant relationship, divorce, widowhood, career-change, job loss, retirement, etc… The list is endless. You are feeling lost, confused, overwhelmed and need some support to clear the cobwebs and find a productive way to move forward.

If yes… we invite you in to talk with our accredited Life Coach, Juli Fyfe to see how this form of counselling could positively impact your life.
